What does YPOGS stand for?
YPOGS stands for Yellow Page Online Graphical Search.

Do I need to register an account before using your service?
It depends. If you are using our service to perform searches to find company/organization information then you don’t need to register. If you are to list your company/organization information with our system, or to advertise on our site, you will have to register an account first.

How do I perform a search?
There are three ways of performing searches on YPOGS.com:
     1)Through Zip-code or City level search: A user can directly type a zip-code, or click any State on the map and choose a city to perform a search;
     2)Through State level search: A user can select any State from the dropdown box to perform a search; or
     3)Through business listing search: A user can type any search terms inside the listing name textbox to perform a search.
When using any of the first two types of search, the user also has to select a business category for his/her searches. Business categories are listed in both text and graphical format. There are a total of three hierarchical categories used in our system: the top-level, 2nd-level, and the final category. A user picks categories from the top down. That is, first selects a top-level category, then 2nd-level, and then the final category. Any company listing that satisfies the user's criteria (Zip Code, City, or State, as well as the selected category) will be displayed as the search result on the screen. If the user performs a business listing search, he/she does not have to specify any business category. All company listings that contain the search terms in their listing names or descriptions will be displayed. The final search result is displayed alphabetically according to the listing name. Yes.

Is it free to add my company/organization information to your search database?
Yes. When registering your account, you will provide information regarding your company.

What company/organization information is presented after a search?
If your company's listing satisfies a user’s search criteria, the listing name, company logo, address, phone number, and web site link will be displayed. The user can mouse over your logo to view a brief description of your company. The user can also find your company's physical location on a map by clicking the "Map It" link.

What's the difference between a listing and an advertisement?
A listing is like company information inside a physical yellow page book. The purpose of a listing is to provide information so that interested users can easily find your company. When you create a listing in your account, the system will automatically get the address info (including street address and phone number) from your account profile. You are limited to create only one listing per business category. Any YPOGS user can perform business listing search to find businesses by entering listing/business names (or partial listing names) or listing descriptions (or partial descriptions). An advertisement is created by company/organization to promote its visibility and can appear on any (or any combination) of the following scenario pages:
     1)Home page;
     2)State search page;
     3)Category search page;
     4)Zip-code search page.
To select more than one scenario, just hold the Shift or Control key while choosing Type under "Add Advertisement" in your account. It will cost you money each time your advertisement is clicked by any users or visitors of our site. Any business listing search result page is treated as Home page (in terms of advertisement display). Note: While creating a listing, the image (logo) you upload should be of .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, or .png file and should be 100 X 100 pixels in size. If any file type other than images is submitted, the system will ignore the file. If the image file is not 100 X 100 pixels, the system will display it as 100 X 100 pixels thus it might appear awkwardly.

How much does it cost to advertise on your site?
We charge advertisers based on CPC (cost per click). Each click on your advertisement image costs USD $0.05. We do not charge on the number of impressions. You can always click on Manage Advertisement in your account to view your advertisement status, including the number of impressions, number of clicks, and total charges for each advertisement so far. All advertisements are subject to admin approval first. It may take up to 48 hours for the approval. Once approved, the advertisement will be preceded by a green solid circle under Manage Advertisement in your account. The advertisement image you upload should be of .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, or .png file and should be 200 X 80 pixels in size.

How do I pay to advertise?
You can either pay by credit card or PayPal. In order to advertise, you need to deposit money into your account first. After logging in, you can go to Manage Advertisement to deposit money. The charge item will appear as "YPOGS Advertisement" in your credit card or PayPal statement. You can create as many advertisements as you wish (with different advertisement titles). Each click on any of your advertisement will trigger a deduction of USD $0.05 from your account. Once your account goes down to $0.00, none of your advertisements will be eligible to appear on any page. There is no expiration of your advertisements.

How often will my advertisement appear?
It depends on how many other advertisements and what pages you are advertising on. On any of our web page, we display at most five advertisement images. If there are more than five advertisement images, the system will randomly pick five to display.
